Burnley Football Supporters’ Club are taking advantage of Burnley’s game against Shamrock Rovers and have organised a three night trip to Ireland taking in the game.

They will depart from Turf Moor by coach on Thursday 13th at 10:00 for the journey to Holyhead on Anglesey where they will board the Irish Ferries crossing at 14:15. The crossing takes just over three hours, arriving at Dublin Ferryport at 17:25 but there are bars and restaurants on board, even a cinema on some of the fleet.

esplanade brayIt’s just a short journey then by coach to the seaside resort of Bray, about half an hour from Dublin, with the party based for three nights at the Esplanade Hotel which is located on the seafront at the foot of Bray Head.

The coach will depart for Dublin on Friday afternoon and there will be the opportunity to explore the Irish capital, maybe taking in the Guinness Storehouse or some of the museums including Kilmainham Gaol and even a museum devoted to Leprechauns.

guinnessAfter an afternoon in Dublin, the coach will make the short journey to Tallaght Stadium for the game against Shamrock Rovers and after the game will return to Temple Bar in Dublin prior to returning to the hotel in Bray.

With the football match played, Saturday will be the free day with a number of options under consideration for the travelling party to decide. It could be Wexford and Waterford to the south or inland to the Wicklow Mountains. Alternatively there is the opportunity to visit the National Stud & Japanese Gardens at Tully which could tie in with the Irish Oaks Day at the Curragh just a quarter of an hour drive away.

curraghAfter a third night at the hotel, it is homeward bound on the Sunday, but not before another few hours in Dublin before making the journey back to Dublin Ferryport for the Stena Line sailing back to Holyhead at 15:10, arriving at 18:40 for the journey back to Turf Moor at an estimated 21:45.

The cost of the trip is £365 per person based on sharing a twin or double room with a single room supplement of £65 per person. This includes all coach travel, the return ferry crossings and three nights half board at the Esplanade Hotel.

It does not include match tickets at Shamrock Rovers nor any entrance fees to visitor attractions.
