curzon ashton 2 1000x500Burnley’s under-23 side are back in Professional Development League action tonight with a home game against Bolton Wanderers to be played at Curzon Ashton.

Since losing to Crewe three weeks ago, Michael Duff’s team have gone unbeaten. Besides a Premier League Cup win against Colchester, we are now unbeaten in three games with draws against Huddersfield, at the Turf, Birmingham away and the 1-0 win against Barnsley last Thursday at Curzon Ashton which has moved us up the table to seventh.

Tonight’s opponents Bolton are currently one place and one point below us but they do have three games in hand on us having played less games than any other team in the league. They haven’t played for the last two weeks but they certainly come into the game on the back of some good results. They ended October with two wins, the second of them against league leaders Sheffield Wednesday, and in their last game beat Hull, who are currently third, 6-1, a victory which included a hat trick from Connor Hall.

It was a particularly young Burnley team that beat Barnsley four days ago. Whether that is the case tonight will be dependent on whether Sean Dyche wants to give either or both of Dean Marney and Nahki Wells some game time.

Kick off at the Tameside Stadium is 7 p.m. with admission charges the usual £4 adults, £2 concessions and free entry to Burnley season ticket holders on production of their season card.
