Under-23 cup action at the Turf
Burnley face Watford this afternoon in the Premier League Cup with the winners going through to the group stage in a group with Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Sunderland.
The Clarets have been unfortunate to have been drawn out twice in preliminary rounds. We beat Bournemouth at home in the last round, winning the game 3-2 after extra time, and this afternoon’s game against Watford is one of two games to be played in this round; Portsmouth host Barnsley this evening in the other.
Clubs are able to play three outfield players and a goalkeeper over the age of 23 but in the last round we didn’t make use of that and fielded a squad taken exclusively from the development squad and the youth team.
Kick off this afternoon is 2 p.m. with the Bob Lord stand open. Admission charges are £4 for adults, £2 concessions but entry is free for season card holders.Share this page :
