Under-23s go to Ibrox
Burnley played two first team friendlies against Rangers at Ibrox, in 2015 and 2016, and in two days time our under-23s will be playing there in a friendly.
Coach Michael Duff said: “Even though we have finished our league programme, the lads are still training so it’s good to have games to work to, and this is a really gone one to be involved in.”
He added: “Ibrox is a great stadium to go and play in and I know they often get a lot to watch, which will make it a valuable experience for the boys. It also gives us a chance to continue our planning for next season.
“It will be largely the squad we have next year that will go up there and we might look at a different shape to our play as we build for next season.”
They will come up against a team coached by Billy Kirkwood, the former Dundee United midfielder. They’ve not been in a league this season and have, instead, played friendlies against teams from the Premier League and in Europe.
Kick off at Ibrox is 2 p.m. and admission is £5 adults and £2 children.
