Under-23s in action at Loftus Road
It’s the international break for the next two weeks but that doesn’t affect the under-23s who will play their fourth league game of the season this afternoon against QPR.
So far we’ve won two and lost one of our three games. We’ve beaten both Cardiff and Crystal Palace at home but lost our only away game to date at Coventry two weeks ago. That means we go into today’s game in fourth place in the northern group of the Professional Development League.
QPR, meanwhile, are eighth in the southern group but are still to win or lose this season having drawn all three games, two of them away at Barnsley and Leeds and one at home against Nottingham Forest.
Last season’s game against them was at home and ended in a 3-1 win for the Clarets back in March. Ntumba Massanka scored our first goal that afternoon with the second and third coming from Tinashe Chakwana (pictured) in one of the team’s rare outings at Turf Moor.
The game proved to be Dean Marney’s last at Turf Moor and ended with him getting a red card for having a word with the referee.
The Burnley team is: Adam Legzdins, Jordan Cropper, Ed Cook, Oliver Younger, Ali Koiki, Tunde Bayode, Mace Goodridge, Christian N’Guessan, Marley Blair, Rob Harker, Dan Agyei. Subs: George McMahon, James Clarke, Teddy Perkins, Anthony Glennon, Tinashe Chakwana.
Today’s game kicks off at 2 p.m. and it is free admission at Loftus Road.Share this page :
