Up the Clarets back youth team in Prague
New youth team coach Danny Cadamarteri will be taking the youth team to Prague at the end of July to take part in the 2017 Generali Cee Cup, and Up the Clarets Youth Foundation are delighted to confirm that we will be supporting the trip.
Burnley are one of twelve teams taking part in the competition. Those teams have been split into four groups of three which will give the young Clarets two group games plus at least one more game even if we don’t win the group.
Our group games, both to be played in with morning kick offs, are against hosts AC Sparta Praha on Thursday 20th July and we play again a day later against Prostars FC (Toronto) with both games being played at the Strahov Stadium.
The group games finish on Saturday 22nd July with the semi-finals, between the four group winners, taking place on Monday 24th July.
For those teams who don’t get through, there will be games on 25th to determine the final rankings, prior to a third/fourth place game with the final to be played on Wednesday 26th July.
Up the Clarets Youth Foundation have committed £7,000 towards the trip and academy manager Jon Pepper told us: “Many thanks for your help and support for this trip. It will provide a great experience for our scholars.”
The teams taking part are
AC Sparta Praha
FC Academy Pandev
SK Slavia Praha
Real Sapphire FC
