fpl 1718The Premier League launched the official 2017/18 Fantasy Premier League game last week and Up the Clarets have again set up a league for our own fantasy game.

As we’ve done in previous seasons, our league will run with prizes for finishing in the top positions (usually the top three) and also for the winning managers of the month.

The entry fee remains at £10 per team (£10.60 if using credit/debit card or Paypal to cover the costs) and for each entry received, £5 will be added to the prize fund with the remainder being donated to the Up the Clarets Youth Foundation.

The official game has served us well both here and elsewhere for more than ten years. It’s easy to play. All you have to do is select a squad of fifteen players within a £100 million budget and off you go with team and squad changes permitted throughout the season as well as having the facility to make wholesale changes to your squad on a couple of occasions with no penalty. There are also three extra features that can be used once. One of those is new allowing you to make a full change of your squad for one week only.

Once again you will be able to select up to three Burnley players. Last season our best points scorers were central defenders Michael Keane and Ben Mee, goalkeeper Tom Heaton and strikers Andre Gray and Sam Vokes.

Tom has gone up in price this season; he’ll now cost you £5 million. Matt Lowton, Mee, James Tarkowski and Stephen Ward, our most expensive defenders, will all cost you £4.5 million while Robbie Brady, Steven Defour, Jeff Hendrick and Jonathan Walters (a midfielder in the game) are all at £5,5 million. You’ll get Vokes for £6 million while our most expensive player is Gray who comes in at £6.5 million.

What do you need to join? That’s easy, just set up your squad and send us your entry fee. On receipt you will receive the code to join the Up the Clarets League.

You do not have to have registered for our Message Board but you will be able to see a list of entries there along with the prize fund and details of those prizes once it is closed for entries.

Just click HERE for details on how to register for the game and how to join our league and remember, because of the first fixture, that between Arsenal and Leicester, coming on the Friday, the cut off within the game for the first week is 6:45 p.m. on Friday 11th August. Prior to that, you can make as many changes as you like to your squad.
