We are off to Curzon Ashton in the Youth Cup
Four days ago Burnley were given a 3rd round away tie in the FA Youth Cup against Oldham Athletic or Curzon Ashton with their 2nd tie to be played this evening at Boundary Park.
It has gone Curzon Ashton’s way. Oldham took an early lead but two goals in two minutes midway through the first half, the second of them from the penalty spot, turned things in Curzon Ashton’s favour. Right on half time Oldham levelled it but it was Curzon Ashton who won it with a third goal a quarter of an hour from the end.
That now sees our under-18s travel to Curzon Ashton, the home ground for our under-23s in the 3rd round, the first time we will have played an away game since the 2014/15 season when we won at Wimbledon and beat Cardiff at home before going out at Nottingham Forest.
There is no confirmed date as yet but all 3rd round games are to be played by 14th December.
