Marco Silva will face Burnley today for the third time as a Premier League manager and it is Everton today after the first two were when in charge of Hull City and Watford.

He’s looking for a change of fortune for his Everton side after they suffered a 6-2 home defeat against Spurs three days ago.  He said: “We had the good run, in seven games we lost only to Manchester United, and now it is a bad run. We have to face it with work, quality, character and personality to change results for us.

“Burnley is a tough match and we have to be really strong and together as a team. Each game will be tough, we have to be strong and work hard to earn the points we want to achieve our goals this season. The next game will be a good opportunity to be different for ourselves and the fans.”

He added: “You have to be strong against every team. if you want to achieve something and compete at a high level and against the top six, you have to compete at a high level against every team. We have to change the situation as a team, not just with one or two players.

“We will do our job. It was a bad afternoon for us (v Spurs) but we worked again at USM Finch Farm on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to analyse and prepare for this match. It will be tough and we have to be organised for us.”

We kick off a run of five Premier League games today that Sean Dyche believes is the time we have to start picking up some consistent results. “We’ve had three of the last four games against the big guns and we know that’s tough. You can play well and still get beat, but I think the next five games are ones where we have to start taking points,” he said.

“Performances are pretty strong overall, but we have to start taking points from the coming games, without a doubt.
