With our first two home games in the Professional Development League against Ipswich Town and Cardiff City having been played behind closed doors at Gawthorpe, tonight gives us our first opportunity to watch the under-23 team when we play Leeds United at Curzon Ashton’s Tameside Stadium.

grounds curzon 3It’s a clash between two of the bottom three with both us and Leeds having four points from our opening six games with Leeds above us courtesy of the better goal difference.

It’s certainly a difficult league to gauge with some clubs fielding very strong teams at times and others much younger, inexperienced teams. We’ve seen both sides of that. The one win came against a very young Ipswich team but in other games we’ve come up against a number of first team players, particularly in the games against Crystal Palace and Cardiff.

Fredrik Ulvestad and Anders Lindegaard played in the last league game at Hull two weeks ago but we’ve there’s been no dipping into the first team squad other than that all season and it is expected to be very much a team made up of development squad players again tonight.

Kick off at Curzon Ashton is 7 p.m. It is free admission for all Burnley season ticket holders. Admission charges for non-season ticket holders are £4 adults, £2 concessions and free for under-16s.

For Burnley fans travelling to the game, the ground is just over a mile from junction 23 on the M60. From that exit, use the A635 (Manchester Road) then take a slight left into Margaret Street before turning right into Richmond Street.

The address is: Tameside Stadium, Richmond Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 9HG.
