1718 burnley nahki wells 02 500x500Nahki Wells will spend another season on loan at QPR after they beat a number of Championship clubs, including Birmingham City, Bristol City and West Bromwich Albion, to sign him on a season long loan.

Wells made a couple of cameo appearances in the two home friendlies last week but these are now likely to have been his final games for Burnley with this latest loan deal taking him to the end of his contract with Burnley during which he hasn’t started a single game.

He was a late signing in the summer of 2017 and spent time recovering from surgery before getting his opportunity. He netted a hat trick for the under-23s on his return but couldn’t break into the first team and made just nine Premier League appearances, each one as a substitute.

Last season, fully fit again, he went to QPR on a season long loan during which he scored nine times and went back to play international football for Bermuda. R’s chief exec Lee Hoos suggested they would have liked to have taken him permanently but couldn’t come close to doing a deal financially.

They’ve since changed manager with Mark Warburton taking over, but they’ve moved today to take him back to Loftus Road and he’ll spend the 2019/20 season in the Championship.
