Burnley travel to Anfield tomorrow to face Liverpool and the two managers have been speaking ahead of the game.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has one win and one loss against the Clarets from last season and he explained that he doesn’t expect anything like an easy game when he comes up against us again.

“They have four points from Chelsea and Tottenham, so nobody should consider this game easy tomorrow,” Klopp said. “There are not a lot of easy situations you can outplay them, so we need to make the right decision.

“It’s really interesting to play them because they are always on a really high level, since I’ve known them. Maybe the best game we played against them was when we lost 2-0. It’s not that we think about these games. Everybody should know about this; if we are all ready to work, it can be really good.”

Klopp will be looking for a better defensive performance too tomorrow but he said: “Our fault is that with some things we give you all the opportunity to talk about it, that is our mistake. It is a lack of concentration. Everyone who ever played football missed a ball in some situations.

“It is not a quality thing. It looks to me a little bit like a self-fulfilling prophecy because we talk about it all the time. Everyone has conceded goals so far. We cannot take out the five goals against City but if we could do it we have played a lot of games with decent defensive performances.

“It would be easy to look at this team and say ‘it is so exciting how they play’ but I am not sure if it is the world in general or a Liverpool thing but it is always looking for one thing we can be angry about and not happy with.”

There is at least one thing this season and that is that Sean Dyche won’t be constantly asked about the fact that we haven’t won away from home. We’ve already got four points and he believes there is no reason why we can’t add to that tomorrow.

Although we won last week, it wasn’t our best performance and he said of it: “I don’t think we played as well as we can last week, but you have to give credit to the opposition because sometimes it’s not that you haven’t played well, it’s that they have stopped you.

“On the other hand, the framework of the side and defensive determination to get the job done were on show and we’ve done that many times to get points on the board. That has to be delivered at a high level and Liverpool will be another big test.

“I was at the game against Sevilla the other night, and a lot is made of Mané (who misses the game tomorrow through suspension) but then Coutinho came on and he may start. They’ve got depth and they are a good side, certainly. They are good going forward, get bodies up there and have pace and quality.

“The obvious threat is to cope with that and still offer a threat at the other end. There have been question marks from people around the game about how well they can defend, but I think they have got some very good players and it’s up to us to try and break them down. But we’ve shown already this season what we are about. We are delivering good performances,  particularly away.

“We were very strong at Chelsea and then, at Tottenham, the last twenty minutes is as good, away from home, as we’ve been in my time here in the Premier League. So, it bodes well, but we know we have to hit those performance levels because these are tough games against tough sides.”
