Burnley travel to Manchester United today and both managers are looking forward to the game after disappointing results two days ago.

Speaking about the Clarets, Jose Mourinho said: “If you compare what they are doing with the initial objectives, it’s a very good season. If survival was the objective, I think the objective is in the pocket, it’s totally under control.

“If the objective is to finish top ten, they will do it. If the objective is to fight for European positions, they are there so they have the right to fight, to it will be a difficult opponent.”

He did admit that he’s not expecting an afternoon of creative football. He added: “Everybody knows the way they play. If you expect them to play creative, beautiful football, they don’t do that.”

It’s quick a turn round but Sean Dyche will have his players ready. Asked if they would be down after the Spurs game and whether they would need lifting, he simply said: “Have you seen the league table?”

He added: “There’s no point lifting chins when you are Burnley Football Club and you are where we are, on 32 points. We have some big teams coming and some big challenges, but you have to play them and these games are not measurements for us. It doesn’t mean we can’t get a win, by the way, but we all know what the real market is and we are doing a great job as far as I am concerned.

The top of the rest, where we are, is a fantastic position for a club and a team like us. What we are achieving with this group is a very high standard of football. It’s a tough run of games against the top sides. That’s a fact and we know how good all the teams are at this level, particularly the super powers.”
