The players celebrate a goal in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth

The player of the year has been decided and now it is time to vote for our goal of the season and there is a selection of six goals to choose from.

Last season, every goal in the vote had been scored away from Turf Moor but this season there are four home goals and just two on the road with the six goals scored by six different players.

The first of them is Jack Cork’s extra time winner against İstanbul Başakşehir in the Europa League. In what has become a rarity for us these days, he scored from outside the box into the top corner having received a pass from Jeff Hendrick.

Sam Vokes gets in with his goal against Newcastle at home. This one was inside the box but only just as Sam saw the goalkeeper off his line and brilliantly headed home just before half time having gone two behind. It proved to be the final goal of the game.

We beat West Ham at home in the last game of 2018 and we’ve included Chris Wood’s opener in the 2-0 win. It was a smart goal that saw him fire home past Lukas Fabianski after Ashley Barnes had headed an Ashley Westwood ball down to him.

Barnes himself gets in with a goal in the very next game at Huddersfield. Wood this time played a major part and eventually playing the ball to Westwood who set up Barnes to finish well right in front of the Burnley fans.

Onto number five and a superb finish from Dwight McNeil. He received the ball from a James Tarkowski header, run at the Wolves goal, got into the box and hit a low shot into the far bottom corner across the goalkeeper.

Finally, Jeff Hendrick’s opener at Chelsea. It’s brilliant technique as he latches on to a clearance following a corner and volleys the ball into the net to give us an early lead.

That’s the six – and you have until the end of Tuesday to cast your vote either below or, if viewing the desktop version of the site, on any page below the monthly archive links.
