1718 burnley chris wood 01 1000x500Striker Chris Wood missed last Saturday’s game against Chelsea and has been rated touch and go for this weekend’s game at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United, according to manager Sean Dyche who also reported that Phil Bardsley, who hasn’t played a league game for us since the 2-0 win against Wolves at the end of March is suffering from a tight back.

He did confirm that Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson is progressing although still weeks away from fitness but there is better news on Danny Drinkwater who has had a full week’s training and will be ready for some match time after another week back in full training.

He also had words about Robbie Brady and Jay Rodriguez who both played a part in our late goals last week, Rodriguez scoring the first and Brady getting two assists. He said of Brady: “”He was excellent when he came on last week. I enjoyed that. He is continuing to get back to full fitness and full sharpness. We think a lot of Robbie. He is certainly in contention,” and on Jay Rod: “He is adapting, getting starts helps. The goal last week will have done him no harm. It will do him the world of good.”
