Burnley are at home against Rochdale tomorrow with the game now being played at Gawthorpe having initially been scheduled for Nelson Football Club’s Victoria Park.

The two sides go into the game in the bottom four of the table and that’s a big change given that, over recent years, both have often been in the title chase.

We’ve already recorded one win and one defeat against them this season. In the league, we won the away game 2-0, played at Radcliffe Borough, at the start of September with goals from Tommy Wood and Josh Dolling, but that 2-0 scoreline was reversed in the following month when they knocked us out of the Lancashire Youth Cup.

Only as recently as last season Rochdale finished the season in third place, behind the current top two Bury and Wigan, two clubs who appear to have taken great strides forward recently at youth level.

And it was one win each last season too. We lost the away game 3-1 with our goal coming from a Khius Metz penalty but won the home game 4-2 with Brad Jackson scoring twice alongside goals for Christian Hill and Ntumba Massanka.

Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 11 a.m.
