1920 burnley will harris 00 500x500Will Harris, a member of the under-23 squad, has gone out on loan and been joined by four second year scholars who are also joining local non-league clubs.

Harris (pictured) is going to Northern Premier League North West Division Colne although will still be available to play for Burnley in the Professional Development League.

Also on the way out on a temporary basis are Rhys Fenlon, who is joining North West Counties  Premier Division Padiham while Jayden Major, Udoka Chima and Harry Allen will all be signing for Steeton who play in the First Division North of the same league.

Academy manager Jon Pepper explained: “Players going out on work experience forms part of our strategy of ensuring all of our scholars from second year onwards, unless they are playing u23s regularly, get experience of playing men’s football during their scholarship.

“This strategy has worked very well for players such as Bobby Thomas, Michael Fowler, Will Harris, Ethan Kershaw, Kai Calderbank-Park and Dylon Meredith.”
