Youth game moved to Wigan
Burnley were scheduled to face Wigan Athletic tomorrow at Gawthorpe in the Youth Alliance League but the fixture has been moved and will now be played at Wigan.
It’s our second meeting this season against the current Alliance leaders and we’ll be hoping to put that first meeting behind us. On that occasion, in October, they beat us 4-0 with all the goals coming in a disastrous first half.
That game was played at Robin Park, next to the DW Stadium, but tomorrow’s game will be played at Christopher Park, Wigan’s training ground, kicking off at 11 a.m.
The youth team, now coached by Jason Blake, go into the game having won the previous two league fixtures. We beat Port Vale 4-1 in December and followed that up with a 4-1 win at Morecambe two weeks ago.
The next home game is scheduled for Saturday 30th January when our visitors will be Carlisle.
