Having seen their game against QPR called off three days ago, the youth team are back in action this afternoon with a re-arranged home game against Sheffield United.

Today’s game was originally scheduled to be played in early February but was called off because of high winds but we’ll go into the game looking to avenge the 1-0 defeat in Sheffield back in September.

Four of our players are currently out on work experience loans. All four remain available to us provided the clubs they have joined are not in action but it remains to be seen how many of them, if any, will play and that will be the case for the other four players who were released a week and a half ago. The club have already confirmed there will be a lot of first year scholars in the side although Kane Patterson is ruled out with an injury.

This fixture last season was played in November with us winning the game 1-0 with a goal scored by Dylon Meredith (pictured). A win today would take us back up to third and would put pressure on Leeds for that second place.

Kick off at Gawthorpe is 1 p.m.
