Youth team get a midweek boost
In Monday’s review of the Youth Alliance League we reported that the young Clarets retained second place in the league behind leaders Blackpool while the two behind to watch were Walsall and Rochdale.
We are three points behind Blackpool with a game in hand, although they have a much better goal difference, with Walsall and Rochdale both four points behind us with both having a game in hand on us.
They played their games in hand yesterday and both, surprisingly, were beaten. Walsall travelled to Preston and suffered a 4-3 defeat and Rochdale were beaten 4-1 in a home game against Fleetwood that was played at Hyde United’s Ewen Field. That leaves both of them on 43 points, behind our 47, and with their games in hand gone leaving us and Blackpool as very much firm favourites for the title.
