1819 burnley chris conn-clarke 00 500x500Saturday saw our under-18s hopes of finishing in the top two take a backward step when Crystal Palace came from two goals behind to draw 2-2 against us with Rhys Fenlon and Cricky Conn-Clarke (pictured) scoring our goals.

It means we go into today’s game against Birmingham in fourth place, a home game that was postponed a few weeks ago during the bad weather.

With so many of the second year scholars now having left, it is likely to be another very young team that takes to the field as Tony Philliskirk looks to see his side continue this unbeaten run in the league that stretches back four months since we were beaten by Nottingham Forest at the beginning of December.

We come up against a Birmingham team who are currently seventh in the table but they sit a full twenty points behind us and we’ll be looking to complete a double over them having won the away game 3-1 when both Ne-Jai Tucker and Matt O’Neill scored, either side of an own goal.

This fixture last season ended in a dramatic 4-3 win against a Birmingham team who were then going really well in the league. Dan Moss had scored with Jordan Barnett netting twice before central defender Lewis King scored a stoppage time winner.

Kick off today is 1 p.m.
