Youths fall to defeat at Walsall

After a goalless first half, Burnley conceded three times during the second half, the second of them an own goal, and went down to a 3-0 defeat against Walsall in the Youth Alliance League.

RJ Pingling, with a shot just over the bar, and Tommy Wood (pictured), who forced the goalkeeper into a superb save with a fierce volley, both came close to breaking the deadlock during the first half but it was all one way after the break as Walsall went on to win comfortably.

The Burnley team was: Connor King, Daniel Moss, James Clarke, Kwasinkosi Mpofu, Tyler Shrimpton, Ethan Kershaw, Tristan Jumeau, Akim Samms, RJ Pingling, Tommy Wood (Connor Lucas 67). Subs not used: Marcel Wusiewicz, Kian Yari, Doyle, Kamar Moncrieffe.
