Youths ready to return to league action
Burnley’s youth team last played a league game on 17th December when RJ Pingling scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Port Vale, but, after postponements against Walsall and Rochdale, we are set to return to league action tomorrow with a home game against Carlisle.
We go into the game looking to complete a double over Carlisle having won the away game 2-1 with goals from Olatunde Bayode and Tyler Shrimpton (pictured) and we currently sit five places and nine points ahead of the Cumbrians who made a good start to the season before hitting a run of disappointing results.
In last season’s games we drew 2-2 at Carlisle with our goals scored by Tommy Wood and Shrimpton while the home game ended in a 3-1 defeat, the fourth in that run of nine successive losses we suffered at the end of the season. Nashé Chakwana was the scorer in that game.
A win would surely see us move up the table with the four teams directly above us all within three points.
Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 11 a.m.
