Having been beaten by Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, the under-18s will be looking to get back to winning ways tomorrow against the other team in the steel city, Sheffield United.

1920 burnley tony philliskirk 00 500x500With game in hand on all the sides in the league, we are possibly in a false position in fifth place, but no matter what the result tomorrow, we can’t move up as we kick off four points behind both the Blades and Barnsley who are the two teams directly above us although those two teams have played one and two games more than us respectively.

Last Saturday’s result was a disappointing one but coach Tony Philliskirk (pictured) was happy with the performance. He said: “The lads  are in a good place at the moment. The spirit is very good, they are training really well and now we go to Sheffield United who are right up there. It will be a real big test for us, but we’ve said to the lads, if they maintain the level of intensity and performance, that’s all we ask. We are delighted with the way we’re going and all the lads are showing a lot of the Burnley traits which is really pleasing.

The first away game against them in this league two season ago ended in a 5-2 defeat with Will Harris and Dylon Meredith scoring our goals. Last season it was a 1-0 defeat so tomorrow gives us an opportunity to pick up our first away points against them.

The game is being played at the Sheffield United Community Foundation, Steelphalt Academy, Firshill Crescent, S4 7DJ and kick off is at 11 a.m.
