Chris Conn, who joined the Clarets from Glentoran, two years ago, has today joined Chorley on a youth experience loan and could make his debut tomorrow when they face Kidderminster Harriers at home.

I write Chris Conn, but I’ve previously referred to him as Cricky Conn-Clarke, a name he himself uses on his social media.

Having come through the youth team, the 18-year-old who has played first team football in the Irish League for Glentoran, signed a third year scholarship in the summer and has now moved up to the under-23s. He’s also been recognised by his country, having been capped at under-19 level.

No details have been given on the length of the loan but work experience loans can be variable but he trained with Chorley last night for the first time and their manager Jamie Vermiglio said: “We’re delighted to have Chris on board and we’d like to thank Burnley for giving us the opportunity to sign him. He’s got a lot of ability and plenty of international experience at youth level; we’re excited to see what he can bring to the squad.”
