Burnley’s development squad were scheduled to play Sunderland yesterday at a venue the club reported was to be confirmed, but it was Bolton we did play with the game ending 1-1.

It’s been all change at Sunderland with David Moyes replacing new England boss Sam Allardyce, and he wanted all his players to remain at the Academy of Light training ground as he takes a close look at them all.

That almost left us without a game but we arranged this game with Bolton at their training ground. It ended 1-1 with Dan Agyei (pictured)scoring our goal with a good header from a corner. He had a big chance to add a second too but missed from the penalty spot.

It’s been a big pre-season for the 19-year-old who was signed from AFC Wimbledon last summer. This was his third goal for the development squad having previously netted in a 2-0 win against Barnoldswick and scored the winner at Chester last Tuesday.

He’s also been involved with the first team. He came on as a substitute in the game at Bradford, and set up our last goal for Michael Kightly in a 4-1 win and three days later he started the 2-1 win at Bolton and playing for over an hour before giving way to Rouwen Hennings.

The development squad are due to play against Middlesbrough on Tuesday but the venue is still to be confirmed.
