All change for Watford in the Premier League Cup

The word at Turf Moor on Monday, following the win against Bournemouth, was that the Clarets had reached the last 32 of the Premier League Cup and would move into the group stage of the competition.

Alongside our 2-1 win, Portsmouth beat Southend 2-1 later that day and yesterday AFC Wimbledon recorded a 5-0 win against Wigan.

It now appears that Wimbledon have gone through but, due to some miscalculation, Burnley and Portsmouth will need to play again before they can claim a place in the groups. This afternoon, the Premier League drew out two ties to be played with only the winners going into the group stage. The ties are Burnley v Watford and Portsmouth v Barnsley.

We are at home but there is no confirmed date or venue, as yet, for our tie.
