1718 burnley scott arfield 00 500x500The injury list might be easing but it is certainly doing it at a slow pace with only the same number of players available this Saturday for the visit of Manchester United as there were last Saturday at Crystal Palace.

Jon Walters, an unused substitute last week, is now out having had knee surgery and there is still no return for either Stephen Ward or Chris Wood. Ward has been out since suffering his injury in the 1-0 win at Stoke and Saturday will be the eighth game he’s missed while for Wood it will be our sixth game without him since he picked up his injury in the Spurs game.

But there is better news on Scott Arfield who has been out for the last two games with a tight hamstring with his place on the left hand side having been filled by moving Ashley Barnes there and bringing in Sam Vokes up front. Sean Dyche said: “Scott has every chance of getting back involved.”

Arfield has made 16 appearances this season and scored twice. He gave us the lead in the 1-1 draw at Liverpool and followed that up with the winner against Watford at home.
