Armstrong moves to Fleetwood
Right-back Finlay Armstrong has today left Burnley and signed a one-year deal with League One club Fleetwood Town.
He came through the youth team, playing at left-back and won a third scholarship year that saw him move into the under-21s and move over to the right-back position. His performances in the 2021/22 season won him his first professional contract.
As a player in the under-18s, he’d spent time out on loan with both Padiham and Clitheroe and last season stepped up to play for FC United of Manchester and Curzon Ashton before returning to Burnley where he was offered a new deal.
He’s instead opted to sign for Fleetwood where he will join their development squad ahead of the new season with Fleetwood holding the option of a second year.
We wish Finlay the very best at his new club.
