As you were in the league after youth game was called off
Our under-18s were due to play Hull last Saturday in the U18 Professional Development League only for it to be called off due to a waterlogged pitch, but we are no worse off in the league after two of the teams above us were beaten.
In the game of the day in the north group, second played third in a south Yorkshire derby with Barnsley, the higher placed of the two, at home against Sheffield United, but it was the Blades who took the points to move above them into second place but still four points behind Wigan whose game, like ours, was called off.
Nottingham Forest, who started the day behind Sheffield United on goal difference, were also beaten, going down at Birmingham who started and ended the day third from bottom, while in the other north group played, the bottom two, Leeds and Bolton, fought out a 4-4 draw.
There was just one game in the south and that enabled Watford, who were top on goal difference over Charlton, to go three points clear of Charlton. It was the only scheduled south group game.
One way or another, a win for us this weekend will see us move closer to at least four of the teams currently above us. Leaders Wigan travel to face second place Sheffield United and there is also a clash between third and fourth as Nottingham Forest play host to Barnsley. A defeat, though, would guarantee us dropping at least one place with our opponents Crewe currently just a point behind us.
The player featured this week is midfielder Tremaine Eastmond who is a first year scholar.
