Away tie against League One opposition for Clarets
The Football League excelled itself tonight with another farcically run League Cup draw, one which has given us our first ever League Cup tie against League One club Blackburn Rovers.
While we sat and watched this week as we prepare for our opening game of the Premier League season, Blackburn recovered from their opening day defeat at Southend to beat League Two Coventry at the Ricoh Arena to win through to the next round and win this tie against us.
I said farcically run; they’ve had to change four of the ties with Brentford, Ipswich, Bristol City and Charlton originally having been drawn at home but now due to play away from home.
The game will be played in week commencing 21st August. I suspect the travel details will be fun.
