Should Burnley win through against Sheffield United in the second round tie then it will be an away game in the third round with a trip to Millwall, a former club of our manager Sean Dyche, or a date with former Claret Michael Duff at Cheltenham.

We’ve not previously met either of these two clubs in the League Cup but both beat us in the early years of this century in the FA Cup. We lost 2-1 at Chelteham in 2001/02 and two seasons later lost 1-0 at Millwall.

The third round ties are due to be played in week commencing 21st September.
