Back home for under-18s to face Barnsley
Having been beaten 1-0 at Sheffield United last Saturday, a result that saw us drop to fourth in the U18 Professional Development League, the youth team are back at Gawthorpe tomorrow with a home game against Barnsley.
We’ve won all three of our home games so far and add the victory at Colchester to that and we go into the game with 12 points from our first six games, behind Leeds and Nottingham Forest on goal difference and four points behind leaders Sheffield Wednesday.
Barnsley haven’t enjoyed quite as good a start to the season. They are currently seventh in the ten team league with five points from their first six games.
They won their first game of the season against Watford but then went on to lose the next three against Bristol City, Cardiff and Ipswich before drawing their last two games, both at home, against Colchester and Hull.
The corresponding fixture last season, also played in September, ended in a 1-1 draw but the result extended an early season run to six games undefeated. Tristan Jumeau (pictured) scored our goal just before the half hour but Barnsley were level two minutes later.
Kick off tomorrow at Gawthorpe is 11 a.m.Share this page :
