arfield marneyBoth Ashley Barnes and Ben Mee have been ruled out of Burnley’s final game of the 2018/19 season against Bournemouth. Mee has been out for some time but Barnes will miss the game after suffering a shoulder injury last week at Arsenal.

The good news is that the injury is not as serious as feared. He’s suffered ligament damage and is expected to be fully fit for the start of pre-season.

Scott Arfield and Dean Marney will be leaving the club this summer. Arfield hasn’t featured in the team since suffering an injury in February while Marney, although fit for some time now, hasn’t been able to force his way back in after recovering from the cruciate ligament injury he sustained at Arsenal in January last year.

Dyche said that he would be respectful of their situations but it could be that he is considering giving them one last appearance in Burnley colours. He’s certainly shown sentiment previously as Burnley manager. Back in 2013, Brian Jensen came on for Lee Grant at the end of the home game against Ipswich while Steven Reid replaced Danny Ings at Aston Villa in 2015 and a year later Michael Duff came on for Michael Keane at Charlton.
