Debutant Erik Pieters claimed second place with 18% of the vote and he was followed by our two central defenders; James Tarkowski was third with 14% while new club captain Ben Mee claimed fourth place with 13% of the vote.

The same four players also claimed the first four places in the player ratings too with Tarkowski the winner here with a rating of 8.19 out of 10 which was just above Barnes who came second with 8.16. They were the only two players to score above eight although Mee in third place was close with a rating of 7.98 while Pieters won fourth place; his rating was 7.33 out of 10.

That result means that Barnes is the first leader for the Up the Clarets Player of the Year. His performance won him eight points, just ahead of Tarkowski who picked up seven points. There were also four points for Pieters and three points for Mee.
