Barnett joins Tykes
Jordan Barnett was one of a number of youth team players who was released at the end of last season, but he hasn’t wasted any time in finding a new club having signed a one year deal with Barnsley.
Barnett was with the Clarets for only a short time. We signed him in October last year from Penistone Church. He joined the youth team and went on to score three goals for the team including two in the dramatic 4-3 win against Birmingham in January. Unfortunately he was unable to win himself a longer stay at Turf Moor.
Now he’s signed a one year deal with Barnsley and will be part of their under-23 squad for 2018/19 with the League One club describing him as a versatile player who is equally adept at left-back and central midfield and a player who will bring a combative edge to the side with his energetic and dynamic brand of football.
Barnett said on signing his deal: “I’m really happy about signing for the club. I got released from Burnley before I came here but Barnsley stepped in and offered me a professional contract straight away so I’m really happy.
“I’m really excited for the coming season; I’ve just come into the club so I’m excited about meeting all the staff and players and want to make my way from there really.”Share this page :
