1819 burnley ben gibson signs 1 1000x500Central defender Ben Gibson wasn’t in the squad two weeks ago for the home game against Manchester United and it was later revealed that he had a stomach problem.

He’ll be out of the reckoning too this weekend with Sean Dyche confirming that he is to see a specialist regarding what is described as a groin type injury.

Gibson is still to make his Premier League bow for the Clarets with his only action so far coming in two Europa League games, the second of which saw him sent off for two yellow cards.

In terms of injuries, Robbie Brady was ready for a games programme himself a couple of weeks ago but there has been a slight setback and he’s now behind Steven Defour with his rehabilitation, but there is good news on both Stephen Ward, who returned early from Ireland duty, and Jόhann Berg Guðmundsson who have both been passed fit.
