Barry Kilby receives the 2010 special award from North Manchester Clarets’ Chris Wells

Football matches are not the only thing moved and disrupted by Sky. An Up the Clarets end of season dinner, provisionally planned for this Saturday, had to be scrapped because of the QPR home game being moved and that’s also been the case for this year’s Supporters Clubs Player of the Year Evening.

It was originally scheduled for next Tuesday 3rd May but, with the QPR game on the previous day, Sean Dyche rightly wanted his players resting prior to preparation for the final game of the season at Charlton.

It was hastily brought forward a week and will now be held this evening in the James Hargreaves Suite within the Longside at Turf Moor.

All the supporters clubs will be presenting their individual awards with three overall awards to add to that. The overall player of the year was decided via an online vote which ended last week while the goal of the season will be voted for on the night.

And, as always, there will be a special award for someone who has given great service to our club. This award was first won by Arthur Bellamy in 2007 and since then the winners have been Jimmy McIlroy, Graham Alexander, Barry Kilby, Terry Pashley, Jimmy Robson, Martin Dobson, Ian Britton and Michael Duff.

All the results will be announced, as they happen, this evening on the message board and our Twitter feed with a full report to follow tomorrow.
