Blair signs for Clarets until 2019
There was a new name on the team sheet when we played Plymouth Argyle in the FA Youth Cup earlier this month, that of Marley Blair who, it was reported at the time, had signed from Liverpool.
He’s played since; he’s scored three goals too in U18 Professional Development League games and yesterday finally signed a contract with the Clarets until the end of the 2018/19 season.
Blair’s from Huddersfield and played for his home town team before moving to Liverpool at the age of 18, but Burnley have moved swiftly to sign him. He’ll be eligible for the youth squad for the remainder of this season and will then move up into the under-23s.
Meanwhile, first year scholar Akim Samms has left the club by mutual consent.
Up the Clarets, sponsors of the youth team, would like to wish Marley the very best at Turf Moor whilst also sending best wishes to Akim for the future.
