Anthony Gomez Mancini arrived at Burnley on a season long loan deal from French club Angers back in October and the club have confirmed today that we have now made the move a permanent one with the teenage midfielder signing a deal until the end of the 2021/22 season.

He’d previously been with Lyon and although his only first team action at Angers was in a friendly, he has played for France at youth level in the Toulon Tournament. On the day he arrived on loan, he said: “I have progressed at Angers on a lot of levels, technically, physically and mentally, and it’s been a good experience.

“This is a good opportunity for me now at Burnley and I will be doing my best here for me and for the club. It’s very important for me. It’s a good challenge for me. My objective will be to play for the first team and I will my best to gain a contract.”

Since signing, he’s established himself in Steve Stone’s under-23 team and scored his first Burnley goal last month, opening the scoring in a 3-1 home win against Reading. He’s also caught the eye of first team manager Sean Dyche and he was in the squad that travelled to the Emirates for the 1-0 win and was on the subs bench for the first time when we played Leeds a couple of weeks later.

He’s made the bench since but is still awaiting his first team debut but he’s now been given the chance to achieve that and Up the Clarets would like to wish Anthony all the very best at Turf Moor.
