1718 burnley rahis nabi 00 500x500While Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic wait to find out which north group teams will be joining them in the end of season play-offs, Burnley have finally moved off the bottom of the Professional Development League with Monday’s 2-0 home win against Coventry City.

We kicked off our game a point behind Barnsley who were playing Cardiff at the same time and as the final whistle blew on our victory at Gawthorpe the news from Oakwell was that Barnsley were still likely to be a point ahead of us as they led Cardiff 1-0. That all changed with a 98th minute equaliser from Cardiff which has now left us a point ahead of Barnsley in the table. We both have three games remaining with the first of them the clash between us tomorrow at Barnsley.

Up at the top, the top two places in the north group are still to be confirmed. Bolton currently have 51 points with two games remaining. Only the two Sheffield clubs can now pass them and for United to do so it would need them to win their three remaining games while Bolton lose their final two. Wednesday, currently, have two points less than Bolton but they too are clear favourites to claim a place.

In the south, Palace are now eleven points clear at the top of the league and will win it comfortably. Charlton are second and they can’t be caught either. Down at the bottom, Bristol City did win at QPR two days ago but will finish bottom even with that result.

The player featured this week is Rahis Nabi, one of the players released by the club last week.

The League Tables will be updated as results are confirmed and can be found with our Fixtures and Results within U23/U18 Stats on the top menu.
