With recent changes, and the birth of our new Up the Clarets sites, it’s been a while since we updated the news in the Youth Alliance League.

To be honest, it has been hit by the weather somewhat and since I last updated we’ve only played the one game and that was a home game against leaders Wigan which we actually switched to Wigan and lost 3-0.

1516 burnley youth team2 630x420Wigan actually suffered a shock defeat last Saturday at Wrexham when a win would have seen them go seven points clear at the top. They now lead all of Bury, Walsall and Tranmere by four points. Bury have a game in hand but the other three have all played one game more.

We’ve slipped back to 13th in the table but we’ll be hoping, after the last two games were called off, to get back in action this Saturday. We are due to play Blackpool at home but no venue has been confirmed for the game with Gawthorpe still recovering from the Christmas floods.

We’ve now got the league table and our fixtures and results available, and also the under-21 (dev squad) fixtures and results.

If you look on the top menu you will see U21/U18 Stats – click on that and it gives you the option of going to the fixtures and results this season for either team or, alternatively, the Youth Alliance League table.
