Cheltenham trip for under-23s
Under-23 coaches past and present will come face to face later this month when current coach Steve Stone takes his side to Gloucestershire to face Michael Duff’s Cheltenham Town. We started last season with Duff in charge but he left the Clarets after over 14 years to return to Cheltenham as manager last September and was eventually replaced by Stone later in the year.
Cheltenham had planned to play Bristol Rovers on that day but the two clubs have been paired in the League Cup and we stepped in to fill the gap with this fixture.
It’s one of five games now confirmed in pre-season, the first of which is against Pogoń Szczecin II in Poland. On our return we will play against Stalybridge and Bamber Bridge before the trip to Cheltenham with a game at Curzon Ashton four days later.
