1516 burnley tom anderson 00 630x420Tom Anderson this evening became the fourth Burnley defender to join a League One club on loan when he moved to Chesterfield for the remainder of the 2015/16 season.

Kevin Long is at Barnsley and earlier today both Cameron Dummigan and Danny Lafferty extended their stays at Oldham, so Anderson, who is still to play at League One level makes it four.

Anderson is still to make a first team debut for the Clarets but has been on the bench a number of times, the first of them at Millwall in January 2013.

He has first team experience though from five previous loans. He spent time with Barrow and Hyde in the 2012/13 season and they had a loan at Halifax in 2013/14. Last season he enjoyed a productive run with Lincoln before getting a Football League debut at Carlisle for whom he played nine times and getting some positive reviews.

This time the loan will be longer and he’ll be with the Spirites until the end of the 2015/16 season where he’ll be looking to get a regular place in the side. He’s one of three players to sign for the Derbyshire club today after they signed midfielders Connor Dimaio and Gary Liddle from Sheffield United and Bradford City respectively.

Tom is now one of eleven Burnley players currently out on loan.
