For the second season in succession we’ve drawn League One opposition at home in the 3rd round of the FA Cup; last season it was Peterborough United and this season we have been paired with MK.

It is the second time the two clubs have clashed in the FA Cup. The previous occasion was eleven years ago in the same round but on that occasion was played away from home. Graham Alexander, from the penalty spot, and Steve Fletcher gave us a 2-0 interval lead before our opponents pulled one back right at the end of the game.

A 2-1 win saw us through to a tie at Reading in the next round on a day when our manager was unable to conduct his post match interview so he could apparently rush off to Scotland to meet his mum.

The ties will be played on the weekend around Saturday, 9th January.
