Our game against Accrington in the Central League Cup appears to be going ahead this afternoon in what will be our second game in the competition this season.

We beat Rochdale 3-2 back in September with goals from Ne-Jai Tucker, Michael Mellon and Sam Unwin, the last two coming in stoppage time when it looked as though we were about to suffer a defeat.

The subsequent games against Accrington and Bolton have both suffered postponements and the Bolton game, to be played away, has been scheduled for Friday of this week. However, we are now to play the game against Accrington this afternoon.

We are currently second in Group A, behind Rochdale, who have played twice, on goal difference. We both have three points while Accrington and Bolton sit with one point.

Preston have already won Group B while Huddersfield currently lead Group C although only Walsall from that group are left without any chance of winning it.

Today’s game is being played at Gawthorpe with a 1 p.m. kick off.
