Clarets learn opponents in new style Alliance Cup
The Youth Alliance Cup has always been a straight knockout for northern clubs, but that changes this coming season with the opening round now on a group basis with clubs in groups of four.
There are six groups in total with Burnley in group 4 alongside Accrington from the North West Youth Alliance League and, from the North East Youth Alliance League, Doncaster and Scunthorpe.
We will play just the one game at home. The first game is at Accrington on Saturday 27th August and we then travel to Doncaster on Saturday 10th September before facing Scunthorpe at home on Saturday 22nd October.
The Doncaster and Scunthorpe games are both currently scheduled for a 12 noon kick off rather than the usual 11 a.m., this probably due to the extra travelling involved.
