Burnley held Newcastle to a 0-0 draw tonight to take the tie into a penalty shoot out.

Wayne Hennessey had made three outstanding saves during the game and proved to be the hero, saving penalties from both Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almirón while Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes, Dwight McNeil and Charlie Taylor all scoring with Josh Brownhill seeing his penalty saved. It gave us a 4-3 shoot out win and a place in the third round.

Newcastle: Freddie Woodman, Javier Manquillo (Allan Saint-Maximin 76), Emil Krafth, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Jamal Lewis, Jeff Hendrick, Sean Longstaff, Ryan Fraser (Miguel Almirón 83), Joelinton, Dwight Gayle (Joe Willock 76). Subs not used: Mark Gillespie, Fabian Schär, Matty Longstaff, Jacob Murphy.
