Burnley’s under-21s are in action tomorrow afternoon against Lancaster City at the Giant Axe, our opponents’ home ground.

It isn’t the team’s first pre-season game but the first one open to the public and it sees us return to the Giant Axe where two years ago we played both Lancaster and Ashton Athletic in a pre-season tournament, losing 2-1 against the hosts, with Sam Unwin scoring our goal, before beating Ashton 1-0 with a Rob Harker goal.

Lancaster, who play in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, are managed by Mark Fell who will have two former Clarets alongside him on the touchline in Graham Lancashire (assistant manager) and Rob Henry (). The kicked off their pre-season with a 1-1 draw at Kendal and followed that up with a 1-0 win against Altrincham. On Wednesday of this week they entertained Bolton’s B team and that, like the game at Kendal, ended in a 1-1 draw with Dom Lawson scoring an equaliser after former Burnley under-18 player Trevon Bryan had given Bolton the lead.

Kick off is at 3 p.m. tomorrow and admission to the ground is £7 adults, £5 concessions, £3 under-18s & students. Admission for under-12s is free of charge but all spectators under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult. The concession price is available to over 65s and anyone holding a season ticket for a top four divisions club.
