Cameron Dummigan called up for Northern Ireland Under-21s with fellow Clarets Luke Conlan and Conor Mitchell and former Claret Shay McCartan

Three of Burnley’s younger players, all of whom are currently out on loan, have been called up for the Northern Ireland under-21s who face Scotland over the international break.

Full backs Cameron Dummigan and Luke Conlan, who are currently with Oldham and Morecambe respectively, have been named in the squad as has goalkeeper Conor Mitchell who is in a second spell with Sheffield.

The Scotland game will be played at St. Mirren Park in Paisley on 29th March with a 5 p.m. kick off but it is a game between two of the also rans in Group 3 of the UEFA Under-21 qualifiers which looks set to be a battle between Iceland and France as to who comes out on top.

Congratulations to Cameron, Luke and Conor and also to Accrington’s Shay McCartan who also joins them in the squad. McCartan, like the other three, came through the youth system at Burnley before moving to the Crown Ground where he is currently in top goalscoring form in League Two.
